Patient Access Representative - Business Office

Grape Community Hospital & Clinics is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, this role plays a vital part in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring accurate registration, scheduling, and insurance information collection.

Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for greeting patients, completing registration and admission processes, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, collecting patient payments, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, visitors, and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Register patients accurately and efficiently for hospital and clinic services.
- Verify demographic, insurance, and billing information.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Obtain appropriate authorizations and referrals when required.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and other patient balances.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Assist patients with completing required forms and documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer, data entry, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a busy environment.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday with rotating Saturday 8am-12pm coverage.
