Cook - Dietary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Cook to join our Dietary Department. This position is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for patients, residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner.
- Follow therapeutic, modified, and special diet requirements as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage spaces.
- Monitor food temperatures and adhere to all food safety regulations.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff to provide excellent customer service and patient satisfaction.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
