CMA for Lab
Position: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Department: Hospital Laboratory / Diagnostic Services
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift — Monday through Friday

About the Role:
Our hospital laboratory is seeking a detail oriented, reliable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support daily clinical and administrative operations within our Laboratory department. This role offers an excellent work life balance while contributing to a high-quality patient care environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome and prepare patients for laboratory services
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following proper protocols
• Accurately label, process, and handle specimens for testing
• Perform point of care testing (POCT) when required
• Assist medical technologists and laboratory staff with routine tasks
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
• Enter patient orders, update EHR documentation, and ensure accurate data entry
• Support patient scheduling, inquiries, and flow within the laboratory
• Follow all hospital laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards

Qualifications:
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required
• Proficiency in venipuncture strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a laboratory, phlebotomy, or clinical diagnostic setting preferred
• BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, patient centered environment
