'Team Grape' kicks off challenge to raise money for hospital room renovation

George C. Grape Community Hospital kicked off a campaign to fund the renovation of two hospital inpatient rooms through staff donations and an in-kind contribution from the George C. Grape Community Hospital Foundation.

Titled 'Partners in Progress', this campaign will serve as a continuation of the Hospital Foundation's initiative to renovate inpatient rooms, after having funded the renovation of three inpatient rooms in 2014.

The Partners in Progress campaign is reflective of the increasingly strong support that George C. Grape Community Hospital staff have for both their hospital and their communities. The goal of hospital staff, as 'Team Grape', is to raise a total of $27,000 through personal donations, including payroll deductions or non-payroll contributions.

"The time was right for this project," George C. Grape Community Hospital C.E.O. Mike O'Neal explained. "We incorporated a program in 2013 for our hospital called 'Hardwiring Excellence', and its focus was on building a culture of excellence in our hospital by instilling attitudes and behaviors that lead to organizational success. We've fostered the belief that we are all owners of this hospital, and what better way to feel like an owner than to be an integral part of an improvement project such as the renovation of an in-patient room through personal donations?"
