Donations Received for Laboratory and ER Renovations
The George C. Grape Community Hospital Foundation recently donated $65,000 to the hospital to fund the hospital laboratory renovation project. In a related project, the George C. Grape Community Hospital Auxiliary donated a total of $5000 to provide George C. Grape Community Hospital with a new Emergency Room waiting room. The Hospital Foundation generates its contributions to the hospital from fundraising events such as its annual golf tournament and murder mystery dinner theater. The Auxiliary generates its contributions to the hospital from fundraising projects such as its annual holiday Cookie Walk and Tree of Lights.
The newly renovated laboratory at George C. Grape Community Hospital expanded this facility to more than twice its original square footage, and allowed the laboratory staff to add new tests to its menu of lab services. The Emergency waiting room features comfortable seating, a flat panel television, and an adjoined bathroom for the comfort of Emergency Room patients and those who may accompany them.
George C. Grape Community Hospital's CEO and Administrator, Mike O'Neal, offered his praise for the fundraising efforts and donations of the hospital's Foundation and Auxiliary. "These people are volunteers from the communities we serve who give freely of their time," Mr. O'Neal explained. "Thanks to their fundraising efforts, our hospital continues to grow and expand the services that we can offer to our communities. We're truly grateful for their hard work and dedication."
