On September 13, 2019, George C. Grape Community Hospital was honored to receive a generous donation dedicated to our Rehabilitation Department in honor of the late Larry Diehl. A Memorial Ride that consisted of 202 total miles, was hosted by the Fraternal Order of Eagles Shenandoah Aerie No 3849 on July 13th to specifically raise funds for the hospital's rehab department.

The Diehl family (pictured above) sang many praises about the rehab staff and the care Larry received. Our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants were able to personalize Mr. Diehl's therapy and create a "dance therapy" regimen grooving to the Doobie Brothers. This is the individualized care that Grape prides itself on and we are delighted to have touched someone's life so significantly.

A very special thank you to the Shenandoah Eagles #3849, to the wonderful staff of Midwest Rehab Professionals and our partnership, and most importantly, to the Diehl family for the donation and stories of a man you held so dearly to your heart.
